Com-Net Software, a leading provider of passenger communications systems in North America, announced today that it has completed the installation and final commissioning of Charleston International Airport’s new state-of-the-art ECLIPSX® Multi-User Flight Information Display System (MUFIDS) 5.0. “Our new system is more visibly appealing, more convenient for traveling passengers, and easier for our airline tenants to manage,” Charleston IT Administrator Sherry Deese boasted of the system. Charleston’s ECLIPSX MUFIDS utilizes LCD-TFT displays, LED displays, and Dell servers and computers for a complete visual flight information solution. The airport’s new passenger communications system consists of 17 LCD displays throughout the airport providing up-to-date flight and bag claim information, as well as four LED signs displaying bag claim assignments for designated flights. The airport also added touch screen devices in the baggage area, which allow personnel to more efficiently unload inbound luggage and assign it to carousels. Charleston International Airport now offers passengers timely and accurate flight and bag claim information from a single information database on a common software platform. The ECLIPSX MUFIDS solution is fully redundant, providing the highest level of reliability to the airport. The system’s open architecture also allows for integration with additional systems from Com-Net’s suite of passenger communications products such as Digital Paging or Interactive Voice Response to create an all-inclusive industry showcase in audio-visual communications. “Com-Net is pleased to work with Charleston to deploy a system that will truly improve operational efficiency for the airport,” commented Com-Net President and CFO Dave Michaels. “We are excited to help them continue to add valuable services for their passengers and tenants.” “Overall, it has been a seamless transition. Com-Net is great to work with and we are thrilled to have a wonderful new passenger communications system!” Deese concluded. |
